تعطلت الاستفادة من جسر المشاة الواقع على طريق المطار - الرياض السريع في الحوية شمالي محافظة الطائف، بسبب حادثة وقعت قبل أشهر عدة. ورصدت عدسة «عكاظ» خلال جولة ميدانية تضرر جزء من الجسر بعد أن اصطدمت به شاحنة ما جعله معطلاً طوال هذه الفترة.ويأمل أهالي الحوية من أمانة المحافظة سرعة إصلاحه، لتتم الاستفادة منه خصوصاً أنه يقع في منطقة حيوية وتكثر بها المحلات التجارية على اختلاف أنشطتها ويرتاده المشاة على مدار الساعة، نظراً إلى خطورة السيارات العابرة في الطريق السريع، علاوة على أن الجسر يخفف من الحركة المرورية خصوصاً للراغبين في التبضع من المحلات التجارية ويساعد العمالة على التنقل بكل يسر وسهولة.ويتطلع الأهالي إلى تحديث الجسر خصوصاً أنه أنشئ قبل سنوات، مع صيانة شاملة تراعي متطلبات السلامة وحركة المشاة، وقالوا، إن تركه على هذه الحالة يشكل خطراً على الأطفال. The pedestrian bridge located on the airport - Riyadh highway in Al-Hawiya, north of Taif Governorate, has been out of service due to an incident that occurred several months ago. The lens of "Okaz" captured during a field tour that part of the bridge was damaged after being struck by a truck, rendering it unusable throughout this period.Residents of Al-Hawiya hope that the municipality will expedite its repair, so it can be utilized, especially since it is located in a vital area with numerous shops of various activities, and is frequented by pedestrians around the clock, given the danger posed by passing vehicles on the highway. Additionally, the bridge alleviates traffic flow, particularly for those wishing to shop at the stores, and helps workers move with ease and convenience.Residents are looking forward to updating the bridge, especially since it was built years ago, along with comprehensive maintenance that considers safety requirements and pedestrian movement. They stated that leaving it in this condition poses a danger to children.
