طالب العديد من مواطني محافظة خميس مشيط، بتطوير موقع الآبار التاريخية بمركز الحفائر التابع للمحافظة الذي يعد واجهة تاريخية وسياحية وأثرية.وقال سعيد آل هطلاء لـ«عكاظ»: «نأمل من الجهات المعنية تنفيذ مشروع لتطوير الآبار الأثرية التي يعود تاريخها إلى أبرهة الحبشي، ووضعها ضمن خارطة الأماكن السياحية والجذب السياحي في المحافظة بوجه خاص ومنطقة عسير بوجه عام، والعمل على صيانة البنية التحتية».وأضاف علي ناصر ومحمد القحطاني: «لا بد من تنفيذ مشاريع تطويرية لموقع الآبار، تتضمن تسوير الموقع بشكل هندسي جذاب وسفلتة وإنارة الطرق المؤدية إليه مع تركيب لوحات إرشادية»، وطالب سعد الوادعي بتنفيذ ساحات ومسطحات خضراء، وجلسات للتنزه، وإعادة إحيائها كونها معلماً أثرياً بارزاً. Many citizens of Khamis Mushait Governorate have called for the development of the historical wells site in the Al-Hafaer Center, which is considered a historical, tourist, and archaeological landmark.Saad Al-Hatlai told "Okaz": "We hope that the relevant authorities will implement a project to develop the archaeological wells that date back to Abraha Al-Habashi, and include them in the map of tourist attractions in the governorate in particular and the Asir region in general, and work on maintaining the infrastructure."Ali Nasser and Mohammed Al-Qahtani added: "There must be developmental projects for the wells site, including fencing the area in an attractive architectural style, paving and lighting the roads leading to it, along with installing directional signs." Saad Al-Wad'i called for the implementation of open spaces and green areas, as well as seating areas for recreation, and for revitalizing it as it is a prominent archaeological landmark.
