كسب المنتخب السعودي الأول لكرة اليد المنتخب الإماراتي بنتيجة (33- 19)، في المواجهة التي جمعتهما ضمن منافسات الدور الرئيسي من البطولة الآسيوية الـ(22) للرجال، المقامة حاليًا في دولة الكويت. وشهدت المباراة حصول لاعب المنتخب السعودي مجتبى آل سالم، على جائزة أفضل لاعب في المباراة، وتسلمها من رئيس مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة اليد حسن بن نصر هلال. ومن المقرر أن يختتم أخضر اليد مبارياته في الدور الرئيسي من البطولة، بمواجهة منتخب البحرين يوم الأحد عند الساعة الرابعة مساءً.
