شهدت مدينة طرابلس شمال لبنان صباح اليوم (السبت) مأساة حبست عائلة تحت أنقاض مبناهم المنهار، وتمكنت فرق الدفاع المدني قبل قليل من إنقاذ طفلة صغيرة من تحت أنقاض المبنى السكني المكون من 5 طوابق انهار فجراً في شارع الجديد بمنطقة القبة، فيما تستمر فرق الإنقاذ في البحث عن باقي العالقين.
وأفاد الصليب الأحمر اللبناني بأن جميع العالقين على قيد الحياة، بينما أكّد الرئيس اللبناني جوزيف عون متابعة التطورات عن كثب، موجّهًا بتكثيف جهود الإغاثة وفتح تحقيق فوري لتحديد أسباب الانهيار ومحاسبة المسؤولين.
وجرى نقل الطفلة التي أنقذت بحالة مستقرة إلى المستشفى، في حين شددت المديرية العامة للدفاع المدني على ضرورة إخلاء المنطقة وابتعاد المواطنين لتسهيل عمل فرق الإنقاذ التي تستخدم أجهزة متخصصة لتحديد أماكن المحتجزين وتسريع عمليات البحث.
وقال رئيس مجلس الوزراء اللبناني الدكتور نواف سلام: «أتابع منذ الصباح الباكر تطورات انهيار المبنى المتصدّع وعملية إنقاذ أفراد العائلة التي عادت إلى المنزل، وطلبت تأمين كل ما يلزم لهم». وأضاف: «كما شددت على رفع مستوى الجهوزية وتكثيف التنسيق مع وحدة إدارة الكوارث وبلدية طرابلس وسائر الأجهزة المعنية. الحكومة تولي قضية الأبنية المهددة بالانهيار أهمية قصوى وتعمل على معالجتها وتأمين الأموال اللازمة بأسرع وقت».
وأثارت هذه الحادثة مخاوف كبيرة حول الأبنية المتهالكة، وسط دعوات لتحسين البنية التحتية وتعزيز إجراءات السلامة لتفادي مأساة مماثلة في المستقبل.
The city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon witnessed a tragedy this morning (Saturday) as a family was trapped under the rubble of their collapsed building. Civil defense teams were able to rescue a small girl from under the debris of the five-story residential building that collapsed early in the morning on Al-Jadeed Street in the Qobbeh area, while rescue teams continue to search for other trapped individuals.
The Lebanese Red Cross reported that all those trapped are alive, while Lebanese President Joseph Aoun confirmed that he is closely monitoring the developments, directing an intensification of relief efforts and an immediate investigation to determine the causes of the collapse and hold those responsible accountable.
The rescued girl, in stable condition, was transported to the hospital, while the General Directorate of Civil Defense emphasized the necessity of evacuating the area and keeping citizens away to facilitate the work of rescue teams that are using specialized equipment to locate the trapped individuals and expedite search operations.
Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam stated: "I have been following the developments of the collapsed building and the rescue operation of the family members who returned home since early this morning, and I requested to secure everything they need." He added: "I also stressed the need to raise the level of preparedness and intensify coordination with the Disaster Management Unit, the Tripoli Municipality, and all relevant agencies. The government places the issue of threatened buildings at the highest priority and is working to address it and secure the necessary funds as quickly as possible."
This incident has raised significant concerns about dilapidated buildings, amidst calls for improving infrastructure and enhancing safety measures to avoid a similar tragedy in the future.
