تلقّى الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع اتصالاً هاتفياً من الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، جرى خلاله بحث تطورات المرحلة الانتقالية في سورية، والجهود المبذولة لتعزيز الأمن والاستقرار، إضافة إلى آفاق التعاون الثنائي بما يخدم الاستقرار الإقليمي والدولي.
وأكد الرئيس السوري خلال الاتصال تمسك سورية الكامل بوحدة أراضيها وسيادتها الوطنية، وحرص الدولة على الحفاظ على مؤسساتها وتعزيز السلم الأهلي، مشدداً على أهمية توحيد الجهود الدولية لمنع عودة التنظيمات الإرهابية، وفي مقدمتها تنظيم «داعش» الإرهابي.
وأوضح أن «سورية الجديدة» تتبنى نهج الانفتاح وتمد يدها للتعاون مع كل الأطراف الدولية على أساس المصالح المشتركة والاحترام المتبادل، واتفق مع الرئيس الأمريكي على ضرورة تغليب لغة الحوار في حل النزاعات الإقليمية، إذ شدد الرئيس الشرع على أن «الدبلوماسية النشطة» هي السبيل الوحيد لتجاوز الأزمات المزمنة في المنطقة.
الرئيس الأمريكي يدعم سورية موحدة
من جانبه أكد الرئيس الأمريكي دعم بلاده لتطلعات الشعب السوري في بناء دولة موحدة وقوية، ورحب باتفاق وقف إطلاق النار، واصفاً إياه بأنه خطوة مفصلية نحو إنهاء النزاع، كما أشاد بالتفاهمات المتعلقة بدمج القوى العسكرية، بما فيها «قوات سوريا الديمقراطية - قسد»، ضمن مؤسسات الدولة الرسمية.
وفي الشأن الاقتصادي، أبدى الرئيس الأمريكي استعداد واشنطن لدعم جهود إعادة الإعمار في سورية، من خلال تشجيع الاستثمار وتهيئة بيئة جاذبة لرؤوس الأموال، مؤكداً أن استقرار سورية الاقتصادي يشكل ركناً أساسياً في استقرار منطقة الشرق الأوسط.

The Syrian President confirmed during the call Syria's full commitment to the unity of its territory and national sovereignty, and the state's keenness to preserve its institutions and promote civil peace, emphasizing the importance of unifying international efforts to prevent the return of terrorist organizations, foremost among them the terrorist organization "ISIS."
He clarified that "the new Syria" adopts an approach of openness and extends its hand for cooperation with all international parties based on mutual interests and respect, agreeing with the American President on the necessity of prioritizing dialogue in resolving regional disputes, as President al-Shara stressed that "active diplomacy" is the only way to overcome the chronic crises in the region.
The American President Supports a Unified Syria
For his part, the American President affirmed his country's support for the aspirations of the Syrian people in building a unified and strong state, welcoming the ceasefire agreement, describing it as a pivotal step towards ending the conflict, and praising the understandings related to integrating military forces, including the "Syrian Democratic Forces - SDF," within the official state institutions.
Regarding the economic situation, the American President expressed Washington's readiness to support reconstruction efforts in Syria by encouraging investment and creating an attractive environment for capital, affirming that Syria's economic stability is a fundamental pillar of stability in the Middle East.
