فيما يتوقع أن يسلم الزعيم الكوري الشمالي كيم جونغ أون السلطة لابنته كيم جو-آي، حذّر مسؤول استخباراتي سابق من أن بيونغ يانغ قد تواجه صراعاً دموياً على السلطة في حال وفاة «أون» بين ابنته وشقيقته.
تمديد حكم العائلة
وتعتقد وكالة الاستخبارات الكورية الجنوبية، أن المراهقة البالغة من العمر 13 عاماً، قريبة من أن تُعيّن زعيمة للبلاد في المستقبل، في إطار السعي لتمديد حكم العائلة إلى الجيل الرابع، ولم تستبعد أن يشعل قرار كيم مواجهة دموية محتملة داخل العائلة التي تحكم البلاد منذ عقود طويلة.
ونقلت صحيفتا «التلغراف» و«الديلي ميل» البريطانيتين، عن السفير الكوري الجنوبي السابق لدى المملكة المتحدة ونائب مدير جهاز المخابرات في سيول راه جونغ ييل قوله: إن جو-آي قد تواجه معارضة من عمتها كيم يو جونغ، «الطموحة والقاسية»، بحسب وصفه.
اغتيال الخصوم السياسيين
وحسب تسريبات في بيونغ يانغ، فإن «العمّة يو جونغ» 38 عاماً، تُخطط للاستيلاء على السلطة في حال وفاة شقيقها أو عجزه عن ممارسة مهماته، وهو «ما يمكن أن يحول دون تحقيق طموح بجو آي، في سلالة لم تتوانَ يوماً عن اغتيال خصومها السياسيين»، بحسب الدبلوماسي الكوري، خصوصا أن الابنة الوحيدة المعروفة لكيم وزوجته ري سول-جو، باتت شخصية حاضرة بشكل لافت في المناسبات الرسمية؛ ما أثار تكهنات بأنها تُعدّ لخلافة والدها، إلا أن عمّتها تحظى بدعم سياسي وعسكري كبير داخل حزب العمال الكوري، ويُنظر إليها على أنها ثاني أقوى شخص في البلاد.
قتل الشقيق وإعدام العم
ويكشف سجل العائلة الحافل بأن أي صراع داخلي على السلطة لا يمكن أن يمر دون دماء، إذ إنه بعد عامين من تولي كيم الحكم من والده في ديسمبر 2011، اعتقل جانغ سونغ ثايك عمه ومعلمه، بتهمة ارتكاب «أعمال معادية للحزب، وللثورة»، وجرى إعدامه رمياً بالرصاص.
فيما جرت تصفية الأخ غير الشقيق الأكبر كيم جونغ نام، الذي كان يُنظر إليه في السابق زعيماً محتملاً في المستقبل، في مطار كوالالمبور في فبراير 2017 عندما تم تلطيخ وجهه بغاز الأعصاب. وكان يعيش في ماكاو بعد نفيه عام 2003.
مجموعة مشكلات صحية
الحضور المكثف لابنة الزعيم جو-آي، تزامن مع انتشار تكهنات واسعة النطاق حول سبب شعور كيم بالحاجة إلى تعيين خليفة له في سن 42، مع وجود شائعات بأنه يعاني مجموعة من المشكلات الصحية.
وكشفت تقارير غربية عن إدمان كيم على الكحول والتدخين، مع معاناته من داء السكري وارتفاع ضغط الدم، إذ يبلغ وزنه نحو 140 كيلوغراماً.
وكان تقرير نُشر على موقع «38 نورث» في ديسمبر الماضي، ومقره الولايات المتحدة، حذّر من «اضطرابات» في حالة وفاة كيم المفاجئة عند عرض سيناريوهات الخلافة المحتملة، وسلط الضوء على الاحتمال الكبير لظهور صراع على السلطة بين كيم جونغ أون والمرشحين المحتملين لخلافته.
ورجح التقرير الأمريكي أن ينجح المرشحون الأكثر رسوخاً سياسيّاً، مثل كيم يو جونغ، في حالة وفاة كيم جونغ أون المفاجئة أو مرضه الخطير على المدى القريب.

Extending the Family Rule
The South Korean intelligence agency believes that the 13-year-old teenager is close to being appointed as the future leader of the country, as part of the effort to extend the family rule into the fourth generation. It does not rule out that Kim's decision could ignite a potential bloody confrontation within the family that has ruled the country for decades.
British newspapers "The Telegraph" and "The Daily Mail" quoted the former South Korean ambassador to the UK and the deputy director of the intelligence agency in Seoul, Rah Jong-yil, as saying that Ju-ae could face opposition from her aunt Kim Yo-jong, whom he described as "ambitious and ruthless."
Assassination of Political Rivals
According to leaks from Pyongyang, "Aunt Yo-jong," 38, is planning to seize power in the event of her brother's death or inability to perform his duties, which "could thwart Ju-ae's ambitions in a dynasty that has never hesitated to assassinate its political rivals," according to the Korean diplomat, especially since the only known daughter of Kim and his wife Ri Sol-ju has become a prominent figure at official events, raising speculation that she is being prepared to succeed her father. However, her aunt enjoys significant political and military support within the Workers' Party of Korea and is viewed as the second most powerful person in the country.
Killing of the Brother and Execution of the Uncle
The family's extensive record shows that any internal power struggle cannot occur without bloodshed. Two years after Kim took power from his father in December 2011, he arrested his uncle and mentor Jang Song-thaek on charges of committing "anti-party and anti-revolutionary acts," and he was executed by firing squad.
Meanwhile, his older half-brother Kim Jong-nam, who was previously seen as a potential future leader, was assassinated at Kuala Lumpur airport in February 2017 when a nerve agent was smeared on his face. He had been living in Macau after being exiled in 2003.
A Range of Health Issues
The intense presence of leader's daughter Ju-ae coincided with widespread speculation about why Kim felt the need to appoint a successor at the age of 42, amid rumors that he suffers from a range of health issues.
Western reports revealed Kim's addiction to alcohol and smoking, along with suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure, as he weighs around 140 kilograms.
A report published on the U.S.-based website "38 North" last December warned of "disruptions" in the event of Kim's sudden death while presenting potential succession scenarios, highlighting the significant likelihood of a power struggle emerging between Kim Jong Un and potential candidates for his succession.
The American report suggested that more politically established candidates, such as Kim Yo-jong, would likely succeed in the event of Kim Jong Un's sudden death or serious illness in the near future.
