Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, the Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, said that “Fustat Hills Park” is located in a central location in the heart of historic Cairo, explaining that the park is being implemented on an area of ​​500 acres, and is one of the largest parks in the Middle East.

He added that the 'Fustat Hills Park' is adjacent to the Museum of Civilization, Ain Al-Sira Lake, the Religious Complex, and Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, and is being implemented by the Central Agency for Reconstruction, through the Greater Cairo Reconstruction Agency, with funding from the Urban Development Fund, affiliated with the Prime Minister's Office.

He explained that the park includes 8 areas and has 14 gates, which are main and secondary gates that vary between contemporary gates, historical gates, and garden gates, noting that care was taken to increase green spaces.

He said that the park includes a number of activities that depend on reviving the Egyptian heritage throughout the various Pharaonic, Coptic, Islamic and modern eras, and creates a new outlet for the people of Cairo, in line with the state's efforts to confront climate change and protect the environment.

Major General Mahmoud Nassar, head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, explained that celebrations are scheduled to be held in the park throughout the year, and the scope of work in the cultural area includes the main gate, 4 restaurants and cafeterias with an area of ​​216 square meters, 3 fountains, and infrastructure and agricultural works for an area of ​​26,864 thousand square meters.

The head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction said: “Fustat Hills Park” also includes an investment area of ​​131 thousand square meters overlooking Ain Al-Hayat Lake, and includes 12 restaurants, 4 shopping centers, and 4 car garages, and behind it is an area that allows for holding many large official celebrations, as it includes the Roman Theater and the water fountain, in addition to the adventure area, and it has a number of service buildings, lakes and agriculture, as well as the market area, which is a commercial area of ​​60 thousand square meters, and aims to stimulate tourism, support the economy and stimulate handicrafts and heritage, most notably glass, ceramics, wax, spinning and weaving works.
