بينما يشارك فيلم «فلسطين 36» لآن ماري جاسر، والذي يمثل فلسطين في جوائز الأوسكار، يحكي قصة يوسف بين الريف والقدس عام 1936 في فترة الثورة ضد الحكم البريطاني، ويشهد أيضًا عرضه الأول عربيًا.
وينضم الفيلم التونسي «صوت هند رجب» لقائمة العرض، والعمل من إخراج كوثر بن هنية والمرشح للأوسكار، يحكي قصة فتاة صغيرة عالقة تحت نيران الاحتلال في غزة، وحاز على جائزة الأسد الفضي في مهرجان فينيسيا السينمائي الدولي، وعُرض أيضًا في مهرجان تورونتو.
كما ينافس فيلم «المستعمرة» للمخرج المصري محمد رشاد وإنتاج مشترك بين مصر وفرنسا وألمانيا والسعودية وقطر، يروي قصة شقيقين يعيشان في مجتمع مهمش بالإسكندرية بعد وفاة والدهما، ويبحثان عن حقيقة الحادث.

Highlights of the films participating in the Red Sea
Among the standout films in the fifth edition of the Red Sea Festival is the film "Yunan" by Amir Fakhr Eddin, which is premiering for the first time in the Arab world. It revolves around a man living in exile who decides to end his life on a remote island, before events take a turn due to an unexpected flood.
Meanwhile, the film "Palestine 36" by Annemarie Jacir, which represents Palestine at the Oscars, tells the story of Yusuf between the countryside and Jerusalem in 1936 during the revolution against British rule, and it also witnesses its first Arab screening.
The Tunisian film "The Voice of Hind Rjeb" joins the lineup, directed by Kaouther Ben Hania and an Oscar nominee, telling the story of a young girl trapped under the fire of occupation in Gaza. It won the Silver Lion at the Venice International Film Festival and was also screened at the Toronto Festival.
Additionally, the film "The Colony" by Egyptian director Mohamed Rashad, produced in collaboration between Egypt, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, narrates the story of two brothers living in a marginalized community in Alexandria after their father's death, as they search for the truth behind the incident.
