وكشفت مجلة «دير شبيغل» الألمانية ووكالة «أسوشيتد برس»، التي التقطت الصورة المثيرة، أن الشاب هو «بيدرو إلياس جارزون ديلفو»، من ضواحي باريس، وكان في زيارة عائلية مع والدته إلى المتحف الشهير، دون أن يدرك أنه سيصبح محور اهتمام عالمي في غضون ساعات.
الصورة التي التُقطت له وهو يقف إلى جانب ضباط الشرطة أمام اللوفر، مرتدياً بدلة ثلاثية القطع ومعطفاً أنيقاً وقبعة كلاسيكية، جعلته يبدو وكأنه بطل خرج من روايات التحريات القديمة، ليتحول بسرعة إلى «أيقونة الإنترنت» ويُلقب بـ«المحقق الفرنسي الأكثر أناقة في التاريخ».
