اعتمدت الهيئة العامة للنقل، تطبيق التحقّق من بصمة الوجه لسائقي تطبيقات نقل الركاب، بهدف رفع مستوى الامتثال وتعزيز موثوقية خدمات النقل. كما أطلقت الهيئة منصة إلكترونية لتسجيل السائقين تُستخدم لتوثيق بياناتهم والتحقق من هوياتهم ومركباتهم، بما يضمن دقة المعلومات وجودة الخدمة.

وأوضحت الهيئة، أن تنفيذ الإجراء سيتم خلال الربع الأول من العام الجاري، مؤكدة أن بوابة تسجيل السائقين تُعد أداة تنظيمية أساسية لضبط بيانات العاملين في التطبيقات، وضمان تطابق بيانات السائق الفعلي مع المسجل، مع التشديد على أن نشاط نقل الركاب عبر التطبيقات محصور على السعوديين.

ويأتي هذا الإجراء استكمالاً لخطوات سابقة، حيث سبق للهيئة إلزام الشركات بتطبيق التحقق من الوجه، ليُضاف هذا الإجراء الجديد لتعزيز الرقابة والامتثال.

كما أكدت الهيئة، أن الخطوة الجديدة تدعم المستفيدين، وترفع مستوى الشفافية وجودة الخدمة، وتحمي حقوق الركاب.

The Public Transport Authority has adopted the implementation of facial recognition verification for drivers of ride-hailing applications, aiming to enhance compliance and improve the reliability of transport services. The authority has also launched an electronic platform for driver registration, which is used to document their data and verify their identities and vehicles, ensuring the accuracy of information and the quality of service.

The authority clarified that the implementation of this procedure will take place during the first quarter of this year, emphasizing that the driver registration portal is a fundamental regulatory tool for controlling the data of workers in the applications and ensuring that the actual driver's data matches the registered one, while stressing that the ride-hailing activity through applications is limited to Saudis.

This procedure comes as a continuation of previous steps, as the authority had previously mandated companies to implement facial recognition verification, with this new procedure added to enhance oversight and compliance.

The authority also confirmed that this new step supports beneficiaries, raises the level of transparency and service quality, and protects passengers' rights.
