وقال لـ«عكاظ» عبدالعزيز القثامي: «رغم الأجواء الجميلة التي تمتاز بها الحوية، إلا أن الروائح الكريهة تعكر صفونا نتيجة تسرّب مياه الصرف والتي لم تعد تقتصر على مكان واحد، بل أصبحت تمتد من حي لآخر من أحياء الحوية بالطائف، وبالتالي تزعج السكان والمارة وتسبّب للأهالي المحيطين بها الأمراض، ناهيك عن الحرج الذي يعيشون فيه كلما جاءهم زائر من خارج الطائف أو حتى من الأحياء الأخرى».

ويضيف ناصر الحارثي قائلاً: «متى نرى مشروعاً كاملاً يقضي على هذه الظاهرة الكريهة الوبائية التي أصبحت بيئة مناسبة للحشرات الناقلة للأمراض والمسببة لها».

وفي السياق نفسه، قال محمد العتيبي: «أزعجتنا مياه الصرف وهي تتسرّب إلى الشوارع وتقف أمام البيوت، وتتحوّل إلى حاجز بعدم المرور خشية أن تتدفق المياه نتيجة السيارات المارة إلى ملابسنا، ناهيك عن روائحها الكريهة التي تزكم أنوفنا وقد تعبنا ويئسنا من الجهة ذات الاختصاص في التدخل ومعالجة المشكلة».

ويضيف علي الحارثي قائلاً: «أصبحنا متخوفين من حدوث كارثة وبائية، لذلك نتمنى من البلدية أن تقف على منطقة الحوية لتشاهد بأعين مراقبيها تلك التسربات، التي نتمنى أن نستيقظ يوماً ونسمع هدير مكائن المعدات يعلو في الحي بتنفيذ مشروع يقضي على تلك التسربات».

Abdulaziz Al-Qathami told "Okaz": "Despite the beautiful atmosphere that Al-Hawiya is known for, the unpleasant odors spoil our peace due to the leakage of sewage water, which is no longer limited to one area but has spread from one neighborhood to another in Al-Hawiya, thus disturbing residents and passersby and causing illnesses to the surrounding families, not to mention the embarrassment they feel whenever a visitor comes from outside Taif or even from other neighborhoods."

Nasir Al-Harithi adds: "When will we see a complete project that eliminates this unpleasant epidemic phenomenon that has become a suitable environment for disease-carrying insects?"

In the same context, Mohammed Al-Otaibi said: "The sewage water has disturbed us as it seeps into the streets and stands in front of the houses, turning into a barrier preventing passage for fear that the water will flow onto our clothes due to passing cars, not to mention its foul odors that offend our noses, and we are tired and despairing of the relevant authorities intervening to address the problem."

Ali Al-Harithi adds: "We have become fearful of a potential epidemic disaster, so we hope that the municipality will visit the Al-Hawiya area to see with their own eyes the leaks that we hope to wake up one day to hear the roar of machinery in the neighborhood implementing a project that eliminates these leaks."
